Our journey starts at the beginning – What is Yoga? Over the last 100 years, Yoga has become more and more diluted. It has become something that you “do” rather than what you “are”. Yoga is a state of mind, and all the practices including the poses, the breath work and the meditations are designed to bring you to this state of stillness within.

In the Yoga Foundations – Intro Course, we begin our studies with an overview of the history of Yoga, dating back 6000 years. Using a translation of one of the primary texts on Yoga philosophy – The Sutras of Patanjali, we will explore foundational aspects of Yoga including the themes of non-attachment, breaking pre-conditioned habits and how to live our best life.

This is essentially a study on WHY we practice Yoga and HOW the ancient masters said we should practice Yoga.
