Ayurveda is an ancient healing modality developed in India thousands of years ago and now practiced by many throughout the world. While the study of Ayurveda and Yoga presently are closely linked they both have separate lineage and long histories, as we will discover in this training. Ayurveda looks at the world based on 3 doshas or constitutions: Pitta, Vata and Kapha. These doshas can be found in nature, in food and us – human beings. Ayurveda provides even more tools to help us understand our Prakriti (“s” self, our nature, always changing), helping us feel more connected to our Purusha (“S” Self, True Self) who we are on the inside, our inner light that never changes. This training is included in the 300-hour YTT certificate, to become a certified 500-hour Yoga Teacher.

What you will learn:

    • Understanding the doshas – Vata, Pitta, Kapha
    • Understanding the elements & their attributes – Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether
    • Understanding dinacharya and ritucharya (daily and seasonal regimens)
    • Understanding the 6 tastes, herbs and foods
    • Understanding Agni, Ama and the disease process
    • how to apply self-massage (abhyanga)
