Anatomy Principles for Yoga

Taking the functional anatomy and biomechanics previously learned in our 200-hr YTT or Yoga in Practice, and quite literally moving deeper. In Anatomy Principles for Yoga, we explore the fascial lines within our body and how we can take our understanding of movement, the body and the impact of our Yoga practice to the next level. This module is a must for anyone working or wanting to work with one on one clients as we explore how to perform postural assessments and then how to use our findings to address the individual and unique needs of our students.

This training is included in the 300-hour YTT certificate, to become a certified 500-hour Yoga Teacher.  

Within this training module we will also explore the connection between emotional trauma and mental well-being within the physical body, working in conjunction with Therapeutic Yoga in Practice Training Module.

What you will learn: 

  • The 12 fascial lines in our body – structure and location.
  • The connection of fascia and emotional trauma.
  • How fascia impacts chronic pain.
  • Class sequencing in conjunction with fascial lines (both active and yin based).
  • Catering the practice to the needs of our one on one clients.
  • Preparing posture assessments.

Required Reading:

  • Anatomy Principles for Yoga Training Manual (provided on the first day of training)

Pre-Requisites:

Training hours run 9am – 5pm each day with a 30min. break for lunch.

Each day will open and close with meditation, followed by a master class and anatomy lecture and study. A final assignment will be given in order to receive your certificate of completion.

Anatomy Principles for Yoga Module can be taken on its own, or can be included as 22.5-hours towards your 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate. Within the 300-hour YTT track, training modules can be taken in any order.
