This training is being offered in-person only. An established Yoga practice is required to attend this training, preferably with a 200-hr Yoga certificate or having attended Yoga for Wellness training module.

Description

Restorative Yoga is for the experience of safety in stillness. It is to allow our whole selves: body, mind and energy body to drop deep into our parasympathetic nervous systems and receive the rest that we need for recovery both nourishing and nurturing. Yet, it is one of the most difficult practices, that just like meditation, so many struggle with. Together we will learn how to use props and guided meditation practices to provide utmost care and attention for your students on this journey of self-care.

This training is included in the 300-hour YTT certificate, to become a certified 500-hour Yoga Teacher. It 

What you will learn:

  • Why Restorative Yoga is considered an advanced practice.
  • Encouragement to slow down and help your students feel safe while still.
  • The use of bolsters, blankets, blocks and other props to support this practice.
  • Guided meditation practices and Yoga Nidra.
  • Pose Breakdown of 15+ Restorative Yoga Postures.
  • Class sequencing.
  • Brain waves states and the nervous system.

Required Reading:

  • Yoga for Advanced Poses + Sequencing Training Manual (provided on the first day of training)

Pre-Requisites:

  • 200-hour YTT certificate +/or Yoga for Wellness
  • Established Yoga practice

Each day will open and close with meditation, followed by a slow and luxurious Restorative Yoga class. Pose breakdown including props, group work and practice teaching will be part of this module. A final assignment will be given in order to receive your certificate of completion.

The Restorative Yoga Certificate can be taken on its own, or can be included as 31.5-hours towards your 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate. Within the 300-hour YTT track, training modules can be taken in any order.
