Yoga in Practice: Biomechanics of Movement and Pose Breakdown
Understanding anatomy, biomechanics, and alignment principles is the cornerstone of a safe and sustainable asana practice. Yoga in Practice is a 45-hour immersive training designed to deepen your knowledge of the physical body in yoga, breaking down 60+ foundational yoga postures and guiding you toward the art of intelligent sequencing.
This module places a strong emphasis on functional anatomy, exploring how the body moves and how we can support longevity in our practice. You’ll gain practical tools to assess joint movement, muscle engagement, and postural integrity to prevent injury and enhance performance—both on your own mat and in guiding others.
Establishing a safe and aligned yoga practice is vital for long-term physical health. In Yoga in Practice, we dive deeply into the biomechanical foundations of movement.
This training is included as part of the 5-part series leading to your 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification. It is also open to dedicated practitioners, movement educators, and yoga students with a passion for understanding how the body works in yoga.
Our work on the mat centres around embodied learning, combining theory and experiential practice to develop strength, enhance mobility, and reduce tension. As you integrate anatomical awareness into your practice, you’ll unlock the true potential of each pose—experiencing not just physical transformation, but a deeper connection to your body’s innate wisdom.
Join us in elevating your practice through anatomy-informed alignment, pose breakdown, and the science of movement that supports every breath and every asana.
