Intro to Yoga Philosophy
Begin Your Journey into the Heart of Yoga Philosophy
Curious about Yoga beyond the poses? The Intro to Yoga Philosophy course is an accessible and enriching entry point into the deeper roots of Yoga. Designed for students, aspiring teachers, and anyone interested in the spiritual and philosophical aspects of the practice, this 15-hour live/virtual course lays the groundwork for your continued journey through our Yoga Teacher Training pathway.
Learn Directly From the Author of Beyond the Pose
This course is a unique opportunity to study with Lisa Greenbaum, author of Beyond the Pose: Lessons From the Yamas and Niyamas for Mindful, Authentic Living. Together, you will explore the yamas and niyamas—the ethical foundations of yoga—and discover how these timeless teachings can support greater self-awareness, more meaningful relationships and a practice that extends far beyond the mat.
Drawing from the teachings and personal reflections shared in her book, Lisa makes yoga philosophy approachable, relevant and deeply connected to everyday life. Through discussion, contemplation and guided reflection, you will begin to understand these teachings not simply as ideas to study, but as practices to live.
This course is part of the Yoga Foundations Training curriculum and is included as part of our 200-hour YTT pathway.
Whether you are a yoga teacher, dedicated practitioner or simply curious about the deeper meaning of yoga, this course offers a welcoming space to explore how the yamas and niyamas can guide the way we relate to ourselves, one another and the world around us.
