Sangha Yoga Collective Partners with Colleges and Universities to Offer 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification
Toronto, ON — September 22, 2025 — Sangha Yoga Collective, a leading provider of yoga education and certification, has announced the launch of a new partnership model that enables colleges and universities across North America to integrate a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification into their Health & Fitness programs.
This initiative allows students to complete a recognized yoga teaching credential alongside their diploma or degree, giving them a dual qualification and expanded career pathways in fitness, wellness, and healthcare.
“Today’s fitness professionals need more than technical skills,” said Lisa Greenbaum, Founder and Program Director of Sangha Yoga Collective. “They need tools for supporting mental health, resilience, and holistic wellbeing. By embedding yoga certification directly into higher education, we’re empowering the next generation of fitness leaders to graduate with the expertise employers are asking for.”
A Hybrid, Modular Approach
The 200-hour curriculum is delivered through five distinct modules covering yoga philosophy, anatomy, meditation, trauma-informed practices, teaching methodology, and wellness applications. The flexible hybrid format allows students to complete coursework online while gaining hands-on practice in person.
Technology-Driven Learning
Central to the program is the Sangha Student Portal, an easy-to-use Learning Management System (LMS) designed to manage student progress, house training resources, manuals, and instructional videos. For institutions seeking added value, the portal also offers an optional class library with hundreds of on-demand yoga practices.
Benefits for
- Colleges/Universities can expand their academic portfolio, attract new students, and generate additional revenue streams through a licensable, turnkey certification program.
- Students gain a Yoga Alliance–eligible credential, improving employability in gyms, studios, corporate wellness, and healthcare environments—while also developing skills for personal mental wellness and resilience.
Licensing Opportunities
The partnership model includes an annual licensing agreement, co-branded certification, and a train-the-trainer program to prepare faculty for instruction. Colleges can launch a pilot cohort in as little as 3-6 months.
